Our Own Work

Once all of the electrical work was finished, we were allowed to do some work of our own.

We spent days drilling holes and pulling 750 ft. of speaker cord throughout the house.
Most of the cords come back to a central spot near our kitchen.

In addition to speaker cord, we pulled  almost 1000 ft. of Cat. 6 ethernet cable.
The Cat. 6 cable goes to almost every room in the house and to some rooms twice.
Every Cat 6 run starts from the utility area of our basement and then goes to each individual jack.

Chris added wood braces anywhere we thought there was a
chance of us hanging things such as towel rods.

Chris and I also added insulation to the garage.  This was a lot of work!
I cut the insulation to the correct size and shape, we both put it up and then Chris stapled everything in place.
The day we put the insulation up was so windy and rainy. Even though we were wearing gloves and face masks to protect us from the insulation, my fingers still turned numb. Hopefully all this work will be worth it!
